According to the overall data of corona patients and their death ratio the densely populated areas, poor diet, drug addiction, and non-hygiene are the main causes of an increased ratio of corona patients. Stay home and healthy diet is beneficial to cure the COVID – 19. Most of the Corona patients belong to a very poor section of the nation and are not aware of this disease also they can not afford healthy food. So to eradicate this problem the government of India framed this welfare scheme, only for the needy and poor sections of society.

 Due to the ill health of Corona patients, they are not able to do a job and face so many monitory problems and also not afford healthy food. So under this scheme, the main objective of the government of India is to provide financial help to CORONA patients so that they afford nutritious and healthy food. This scheme is a direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme in which financial help directly transfer to the Aadhar-linked bank account of the beneficiary.

Purpose of Garib Kalyan Yojana

• These days the whole world is facing a big medical issue i.e. Coronavirus which is officially known as COVID – 19.
• This virus is so dangerous and captures almost all big and powerful countries.
• COVID – 19 not only harmful to people but also to the economy of the world, every government lockdown in their countries, due to which industries and other offices have been shut down resulting in a fall in economy and development.
• The people who earn their bread by doing labor work or selling daily needs things have to sit idle at home without any work it becomes difficult for them to fulfill their daily needs due to this lockdown, they do not have even food to eat.

Beneficiaries & Benefits Under This Scheme

Indian Citizens  

Under this scheme, only Indian citizens can avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme. Only people who are financially not sound can take benefit from this scheme.

MANREGA WORKERS

There is also a provision of help for MANREGA workers. Financial help is increased to Rs 202 Per day for all active workers. Some of the States have applied for the Scheme and others are planning to apply as soon as possible.

Ration Card Holders

Approximately 80 crore citizens of India are ration cardholders, in this scheme government provides them a 5 KG ration free of cost so that they are not face any food-related issues during this lockdown period.

Real Corona Warriors

Under this scheme government of India ensured the doctors, nurses and staff with insurance coverage of Rs. 50 Lakh.

Registered Farmers under Kisan Yojana

The government will provide financial help of Rs. 2000 to those farmers who are registered under PM Kisan Yojana, this amount will be directly transferred to the Aadhar card-linked bank account of the beneficiary.

Registered Persons Under Jan Dhan Yojana

Under this scheme, those persons registered under PM Jan Dhan Yojana will get the benefit of Rs. 500 for the next three months from April to June month.

Widow, Poor, Citizens, Disabled, and Senior Citizens

This scheme also covers the helpless and dependent community of the country. The government will provide Rs. 1000 to these above-said persons for the next three months.

Ujjawala Yojana

Under this scheme government will also provide a free LPG cylinder to those persons who are registered under Ujjwala Yojana for the next three months.

SHG Workers

In this scheme government will give the extra benefit of Rs. 10 lakh collateral loan to SHG workers.

Construction Workers

Under this scheme, the Welfare of Building and other construction workers has given funds of Rs. 31000 crores to construction workers.

EPF Benefits

The finance ministry of India also announced that they will pay the EPF of employee and employer 24% (12%+12%) to those who have less than 100 employees in the company and their salary must be less than or equal to Rs.15000
