Main Highlights of Amma Scooty Yojana 2023

Two-wheeler given under this scheme is not given free of cost. The Eligible women will get a 50% subsidy on the total cost of the two-wheeler provided.

• Special benefits women can have while purchasing a new scooter. State government Tamil Nadu has confirmed that the maximum subsidy given to the beneficiary will be 25000 rupees.
• The rest of the amount will be paid by the beneficiary itself. If the total amount of the scooter is less than 50,000 then 50% of the total price will be provided to the selected eligible women.
• The government is responsible for transferring the subsidized amount directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.
• This will be done only after all the document verification is done and the total legal certificates are verified. The loan offering for the beneficiary is also done by the different public and private banks and other financial institutions.

All these offerings work under the RBI, state, and Central Government rules. As we earlier discussed that the government is planning to give benefits of this scheme to approx 100000 beneficiaries around the state.

• For schedule caste women there is 21% of reservation in this scheme.

The scooter offered under this scheme or this scheme is applicable only for gearless scooters. Benefits and Finance offered by the government are given only for automatic two-wheeler.

Any specially enabled person( physically handicapped women) can request to fit separate pair of wheels. This can be done only for physically handicapped women.

Tamilnadu Government has decided to include only fuel-efficient automatic two-wheelers under this scheme. So that there is less pollution from these vehicles. A maximum 125 cc engine capacity automatic scooter is permissible under this two-wheeler subsidy scheme.

• Women of only Tamil Nadu state are eligible for this scheme.
• The applicant must have a valid driving license.
• The age limit is from 18 to 40 years.
• Only those women are eligible who earns less or equal to 2.5 lahks annually.
• The minimum educational qualification to take the benefit under this scheme is the 8th class pass.
